Program by DAREBEE

SOMA 40+ is a program specifically designed for women who menstruate (or who used to menstruate), over 40 to help balance their hormones, reduce perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms, reduce body fat % (especially in the midsection) and increase and maintain muscle and bone mass. The program includes strength training at least 3 times a week, HIIT workouts twice a week, yoga, stretching and breathwork.

There are no high impact moves or push-ups in this program. It already has built-in active rest so all you have to do is follow it from day one to day 30. After that it can be repeated indefinitely provided that you increase the dumbbell weight as you progress further.

SOMA 40+ provides you with a blueprint for the type of training (and self-care) you should be aiming for if you are over (or just under) 40 years old. Around this time your body is beginning to undergo hormonal changes specific to women who menstruate and it requires special care and attention: you may feel more tired than usual, you feel anxious without a reason, your cycle is erratic, your skin is too dry and/or breaking out, you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep and you also notice that you are beginning to collect visceral fat in your midsection (more than usual).
